The Dough Roller restaurants in Ocean City offer the best prepared breakfasts and Pizza in town and on the boardwalk...... choose from a large assortment of breakfast offerings from their extensive menu...... including Pancakes! My favorite is Hawaiian Pancakes..... Need a slice or a whole pizza pie? The Dough Roller is the place to go! They have a full selection of pizzas and toppings that will please everyone at the dinner table.... eat in at one of their locations on the boardwalk or in North Ocean City!!!

Average pizza place in OC. A bit overpriced.

I ate at the one that was furthest uptown, but has since closed. We went for breakfast, and it was just an unremarkable, canned tourist place. Food was edible, but unflavorful and not worth the money or the wait. I'd rather go to Friendly's

Ruby Tuesdays/Applebees/Sysco Food Service. It's all the same. This place has pictures of food on it's menu. Enough Said. There are much better places to eat in OC.

The breakfast is better than dinner. Pizza is okay, pancakes are good. I like the buttery breakfast sandwich. Service can be good or bad, just depends whether you get a happy Russian kid or a grouchy Russian kid.

Maybe it was the ocean air that day, or maybe it was the beer; but the pizza was DELICIOUS the last time we were there. I'm only disappointed we didn't return to Dough Roller instead of Tugos up the highway later in the week. Thanks Dough Roller!

COCAROACHES!!!!!! EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! The manager was a total asshole too!

This is not a place i would go at the beach. The one time I went (my friends wanted to go) I found the place really dirty at 1 PM (still a long way til the end of the day) and the service lackluster. After going there i happened to run into a young lady who works summer at the beach and said it had a terrible reputation for working there-the food was lackluster to horrible. Avoid it at all costs there are plenty of other places in Ocean City to take your kids and get a decent meal.

So Ocean City is basically a tacky, overcrowded, overpriced vacation area (I know, I know, I'm from Maryland, I'm supposed to have spent my childhood summers there and loved it, but not so much), but there are definitely a few good places. The Dough Roller is one of them. Their pancakes are soooooo good, and I've eaten them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so I feel like I can say that with pretty good authority. The other food I've had (pizza, omlettes, sandwiches, burgers, etc) is really good too, I don't think I've ever eaten anything bad here. There's 5 locations in O.C. proper, and 1 in Crofton.

No beef here. Quick service, food is just fine. Typical boardwalk pricing. If you are looking for aplace to sit for a while and have some typical italian food/ pizza/ burgers, this is a good place.

This was really good pizza!! I went there with my friend and her family and we got 2 pies but on one of them they got the order messed up a little but they fixed it and let us keep the other one. Other than this it was really good and i definitely recommend it!

I ordered the hamburger and requested for jalapenos. The order arrived but without jalapenos. I had to call for the waitress' attention and remind her again for ketchup and jalapenos. Our table also had a slice of pizza with the order. Turns out the pizza is prepped at a 'different station' and that it would arrive late. We finished eating and we must have waited another 15 or 20 minutes before the pizza arrived. The slice of pizza was on the house because it arrived so late. Service and presentation could definitely improve since both seemed rather sloppy. I wasn't too impressed with the overall experience.

Because of the consistently poor reviews of their pre-made, frozen food, I had the pizza which was very good. Floors were dirty. Staff was attentive. Didn't even try the bathroom. Typical tourist trap.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.. Don't ever go here . I came here with a group of people for lunch , we've seen the good prices and thought why not . We've ordered the pizza pie with two different topping , one was pepperoni and the other was buffalo chicken . When the pizza finally came we weren't happy @ all . It was very GREASY, and tooo much oil dripping everywhere. I found hair in my slice of pizza which was very GROSS. For some reason the buffalo chicken had onions in it and we didn't ask for that . The customer service sucked and the people who worked there took there time getting to your table . Plus on top of that there was FILES flying around everywhere . I just told the waitress I just want the check and we've decided to stop eating our pizza . Of course we had to pay , I told her we shouldn't have to pay with such crapy service , flies flying around and especially HAIR in my food and plus extra toppings that we didn't ask for. Highly DISAPPOINTED. WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE. THERES OTHERE PLACES IN OCEAN CITY THAT ARE WAY BETTER.

The food was delicious and the service was good. We were able to get in and out quickly which I appreciate when you have a drive afterwards. The food portions were pretty generous which is keeping up with the times of larger breakfast portions. I would visit again if in the area because it was satisfying and a good bargain for a touristy area.

We have recently become fans of the dough roller! Their pancakes are amazing and very filling lol. Today we got the omelets which I think are a great bargain compared to the other menu items. We had a very sweet waitress that brought my 2 yr old daughter over two little toys for being a good girl. Needless to say my daughter was thrilled!

If I could give negative stars I would. We stopped in to the location next to Trimpers rides on the boardwalk to have dinner. We picked a restaurant with inside seating and expected it to be cool and clean. The doors were open and we were swarmed by flies when our food came. We asked to have the doors closed and the manager was not responsive. She was rude and dismissive. Flies flying around your food and landing on it is not appetizing or sanitary. Nothing was done to correct this and the staff acted like it was to be expected. I won't eat here again!

So I've been going to Ocean City for vacation every summer for as long as I can remember. That being said, my family and I have long ago found the places worth going to, and which places aren't. So my girlfriend and took a bus trip to O.C. for a day, and they dropped us off at the boardwalk. Not wanting to stray too far away, we were hungry for pizza and decided to stay near the premises. A quick google search returned postiive results for both Tony's and Dough Roller. We first stopped by Tony's, and were greeted to a salty floor, a few metal chairs, and an overpriced menu. After staring at the menu for about 5 minutes, we decided to leave and head to Dough Roller. My family and I are Lombardi's pizza fans - they serve up awesome pizza that's consistently good every year. This was my basis of comparison. We were immediately seated and served 2 soda's by a friendly waitress. Took note of the free refills - hard to come by at the boardwalk. We decided on a medium tomato and mushroom pizza - $17.50. Steep, but to be expected eating on the boardwalk. About 10 minutes later, we were served a piping hot pizza. But frankly, it looked AWFUL. It looked like someone made a perfectly good cheese pizza and strained/dumped a can of diced tomatoes and mushrooms on it. The mushrooms were especially bad - yellow, limp mushrooms with a rubbery texture. I reluctantly ate the first slice without scraping anything off - it tasted like it looked. The sauce tasted like it came from one of those Joe Corbi's "make your own pizza" kits. The cheese was fine. The crust was great - hot, crispy, and perfectly cooked. Of course, it was only a matter of minutes until the crust transformed into a softer, limper version of itself once the juice of the toppings caught up. Not only were the toppings awful, but they put way too much on the pizza. Now for some this could be a plus, but in this case it was a definite minus. For my second slice, I decided to scrape off all of the toppings, and it was much better. By the time we were done half of the pizza, we started to get an idea of just how much tomato and mushrooms were on the pizza - about a cans worth. We came to the conclusion that they just might have opened up two cans of vegetables and dumped them on the pizza. Once about half the pizza was done, we had enough. We scraped off the rest of the toppings, stacked the pizza on top of each other, and put them in a napkin. The waitress finally came back to offer us refills, and we kindly took them along with our check. As for the rest of the pizza, well, the sea-gulls LOVED it. I will say feeding those sea-gulls was the most fun we had on our trip - about 20 of them were hovering over us as they caught the soggy pizza bits in mid-air! They loved it so much, not one of them pooped on us. Overall, one of the most disgusting pizzas I was ever served - but our neighbors pizza, towering with sausage and pepperoni, looked pretty good. Nonetheless, I've eaten mushroom pizzas that came from a freezer that tasted better than that.

I went here for breakfast and that's about the only thing I would eat here. I had a western omelet and it was ok. I've had better. The place is kind of dirty and not very nice. The service is horrible. There was no greeter at the hostess table when I arrived and there was staff around that saw us there but neglected to seat us or even say "hello, someone will be with you soon." When we finally did get seated, our waitress walked by about 4 times before she finally said hello and took our order. I thought it was totally rude to walk by and not even say hello. I almost walked out and I kind of wish I had.

Visited in January and service and food were excellent. I imagine during the summer it's different with all the tourists, but it was great for us!

The food was nasty, the service was pretty good. I ordered a steak and cheese and it was steak-um on a stale roll. No thanks.

3.5*** Went to the one near 39th & Coastal Highway. Ok, I expected really crappy breakfast here but it actually turned out quite alright. Went back and forth on the menu - I heard their pancakes were REALLY good but really was in the mood for something salty as opposed to sweet. Couldn't decide if I wanted to spend $10 on the creamed chipped beef or $5 on the pancakes. Finally decided to go with the creamed chipped beef and it was well worth it. The biscuits are AWESOME here - light, not so dense, and a perfect combo for the salty creamed chipped beef. Plenty of gravy on top and homefries on the side. Honestly, my heart broke a little when I heard we were not eating there again the next day, I am DYING to try their pancakes. Also, they are next to a Rita's Italian Ice which I love, but unfortunately I could not fit it in after that huge breakfast! No idea if this place is good for lunch, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back there for breakfast. Even at high-breakfast time, the wait wasn't more than 10 minutes.

The Dough Roller offers a variety of food, from pizza (with fresh dough made daily) to over 12 varieties of pancakes at reasonable prices. We went for breakfast and all 3 of us got the "Little Roller" which was 2 pancakes, 1 egg and a choice of meat for around $8.00 each. The pancakes are huge! They are some of the best pancakes I have ever had- light and fluffy with a great buttery flavor! The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. We each got bacon and were pleased to see we got at least 3 huge slices and it also was cooked perfectly! There are a total of 6 locations so make sure you stop in for some breakfast. Next time I hope to try their pizza!

I've been here twice now. The first time I went, I ordered just a plain grilled cheese sandwich and it was one of the best i've had since my grandmother made them. My fiance ordered wings and i think a hamburger then and both looked and smelled good. The second time we went for breakfast and they sure give you a lot of food when you order breakfast. Afterwards we order two slices of pizza and it was actually really good. The only bad thing was the family next to us was extremely loud and the waitress kept ignoring us which is why they don't get 5 stars. Good food, normally good service and normally good atmosphere.

I love Ocean City and would live there if I could. When I was younger I went to eat wherever my Mom and Dad said we had to go. When I got older ( over 21) I was more into partying then eating. The last couple of times we have been though I have been getting my food on. The last couple of vacations we have been on I took a tip from Rachel Ray and checked out where the locals eat. However, in Ocean City I am pretty sure they eat at home. All Ocean City has to offer is a huge strip of over priced chain food. But I never lost my optimism. I was sure there were gems to be found. Unfortunately the dough roller was not one of them. We ordered a large pie and 5 drinks. We got cheese pizza because the girls do not like toppings, oh the sacrilege. The pizza came out and it was awful looking. It looked like a frozen pizza. The sauce was to sweet, the cheese was not done, and the crust was frozen. There is no way that was fresh dough. It was so bad even my kids wouldn't eat it. Of course us adults knew we couldn't be rude so we at one piece. That was enough. We paid our bill and left. We may go there for breakfast one time because everyone raves about their breakfasts but never again for pizza. The most enjoyable thing about this experience was looking at the ultra cool vintage lunch boxes.

If your coming to this restaurant for pizza, run far away. The pizza is only a very thin crust, and the tomato sauce, cheese and toppings are all very cheap tasting. I'd take pizza hutt and papa johns any day over the dough roller. For 2 large pizzas and 6 mozzerella sticks it was $46. It was crazy. Definately mediocre pizza at best.

  • J G.

The wait was horrible, then the wait for some pancakes was even longer. The server only visited us to say hello and never returned to ask us about our meal. Places like this you should avoid at all costs Not to mention the food was poorly prepared and tasteless

We ate here for dinner and it definitely did not have the best pizza by any means. We got the Veggie and the Meat Explosion. Both of which were loaded with toppings to the extreme, which made it kind of gross. The Meat Explosion had huge chunks of hamburger meat (which was not too appetizing), Canadian bacon, bacon, sausage, pepperoni. With a name like Dough Roller, you would think the pizza crust would be delicious. It was nowhere near good - edible, but it was very white looking, as if it could be cooked longer with more flavor. If you want good pizza, I would go to Captain's instead - delicious, very cheesy (greasy) and well worth the money. There is a Captain's closer to the boardwalk (12th street) and another uptown around 120-140th street.

One of the few affordable places to go on the boardwalk in Ocean City. Nice place to take a break and get some good food. Only bad point is overpriced drinks, but this could be said for most places in Ocean City.

  • Emily C.

Best pizza in Md! My family is a big group of locals and everybody wants to come here! The pies are great but it used to be better! Before they changed it was perfect! My family used to order the big pitchers of soda! The kids loved Birch Beer and the adults loved the beer! Sadly they don't do that anymore! So my family ends up spending way more and we waste soda! Last is the pies! They used to make half baked pies! We would bring then home and bake them the rest of the way! But sadly they don't do that either! So if we just want some pizza at home, we pick it up and when we get home it is cold, and reheated pizza I think is gross! I would of given them 5 stars before the change, but now only 4!

Great food and service! Walked and got seated right ways with a really nice and friendly server. Food was out in less then 15 mins and exactly how we ordered. Love going here off season!!

I ordered an egg white omelette and pancakes with pineapples. A yellow omelette arrived next to a pile of dog food. The inept waitress starts talking about cholesterol free egg beaters. That's not what I ordered and you should tell me before you give me something random! The pancakes were covered with some mysterious yellow ooze. I've seen canned pineapples, which don't even look anything like this. Obviously it was all inedible and the waitress said she would take it off the bill. She didn't and the manager never came over. I don't expect much comprehension at diners so I graciously paid for the cess pool, but still... Gross!

Soo Delicious!!! My fiancée and I went and he got a pastrami sandwich and I got a Italian sausage sub, they were both amazing. I would deff go back, just be careful because their are no free refills and we didn't know that!

We were in town for a couple days and friends suggested Dough Rollers. We were seated and waitress showed up pretty quick. That is when it became slow. Seems like we waited forever for our food and the place was empty. I decided to try the Cheesesteak. This had to be one of the worst Cheesesteak sandwiches. I could make it better with Steak Ums. Others had pizza and I would say a frozen pizza is better. One person did have a BLT panini and said it was rather good. I have had the Dough Roller and don't think I will be going back. No thanks. The prices were kind of high also.

I love the dough roller pizza! Now I Ou come here when I'm down at the beach because that's the closest to me. The pizza is phenomenal. Great stuff good quality. Now the reason why I took a star off is because it is pricey pizza. It's like 22 dollar for a large with a few toppings. But a large can serve 2-3 people without a doubt. I'm not trying to make it sound like its the best piZza I have ever had but its good pizza for when your down there. Overall, I try to go there when I'm down at the beach. Keep it up!!

Didnt get a chance to eat. Took a look at the menu and realized we already had a bill of $10 for milk, juice and a coffee. Breakfast is supposed to be quick and inexpensive. Plus the place was dirty, tons of crumbs and who-know-what smeared on the seats that I had to clean off. Eww, not returning. (2 stars bc the girl was nice)

Everytime we go to OC, we have to get Dough Roller Pizza. I only had their pizza and wings, and everytime, it is amazing and tastes as good as the first time. I really love their pizza, in fact, I can honestly say, it is my favorite pizza. I usually go to the one on the boardwalk closer to 6/7th street.

First I do tip...and I tip at 20%...so I go in with a large party and had high hopes...what could possibly go wrong? Much apparently... I very clearly requested a spinach omlete with extra feta and onions...when the omlete came out, I took a bite..and to my utter dismay, bit into a piece of bacon...and I don't eat pork! I calmly informed the server...and she aplologized and asked if I would like some thing else...and I said no thank you...when the bill came, it took a few minutes to calculate due to being in a large party. Well, the server had not taken my food off the bill, even though she asked if I wanted a replacement...and then she sent the manager over who asked me what was wrong and asked me how much of the food I ate and what exactly I ordered...his attitude was bad and nonapologetic....bad service and bad food...how that bacon found its way into my food, I'd not like to imagine! To to be nonapologetic is just as bad... I'd go someplace else-the service and food was destable. I understand mistakes can be made in the kitchen--which is not necessarily the fault of the server OR management, but the attitude with which they handle the situation, is! If you make a mistake own it and FIX it!

Bacon pancakes- pretty damn good. Buckwheat pancakes, delicious. Eggs and cheese with home fries-giant portion. Pizza was "eh" but being from NYC, MD has no chance no matter where, what or when. The waitress was very nice. The place is open all around fold back doors for summer, so we had annoying flies pestering us the entire meal. Cheap eats in a touristy area surrounded by places that tend to rip you off. So over all, its a good find.

    (3)
  • Steve S.

Every year I get dragged here by my young twins, who simply lack the memory about how bad the food and service here are. Hopefully they are old enough to make this year the last year for this mistake. For starters, the restaurant was full of aggressive flies...gross! The pizza consistently rates as the worst I've had in Ocean City. It amazes me how much better the pizza at Pizza Tugo's is, and for less. The pancakes here aren't bad, but they're not good either--they simply have no flavor. This was the place where we first discovered Rita's, which has expanded now into our area, but they even took THAT away this year, replacing it with Dayton's Fried Chicken.

    (1)
  • Kim C.

Ridiculous! Ordered a cheese steak sub which turned out to be a steakum sub. And it was ten dollars just for the sub.. You could add fries for three additional dollars. My bf got a chicken sandwich which was thirteen dollars. So overpriced and subpar quality. I have been so disappointed with the food here in Ocean City. It's a tourist trap from hell. I live in a tourist area.. Williamsburg, va. Food options are abundant, delicious and fairly priced

Decent food and friendly service. Nothing at all memorable about the pizza. We got the original and it tasted better the next day as leftovers.

    (3)
  • Courtney C.

I'm not a fan of this place and wasn't before we walked in, but our friend was so I sucked it up. This place has cheap food and nothing you can't get at home from a cheap pizza place or bad breakfast place. My husband and I each got a side salad which was average and split a reuben. The reuben was unbalanced, but okay. I hate eating below average food with so many better options. Oh well.

    (2)
  • Teron R.

Food was ok but very expensive for a pizza shop. They charged for bleu cheese (that we didn't even ask for) although the menu said the wings came with bleu cheese. Something so small can ruin a person's opinion of this

  • Jay B.

Absolutely delicious pizza. I am embarrassed to say that there was one week this past summer that I had Dough Roller for dinner three times. Great service, clean atmosphere, and the small, thick pepperonis are my favorite. Highly recommend.

Service is good. Food was mediocre at best. I am glad I was hungry. I guess we should have tried the pizza or pancakes. Beer was fine, but how can you screw that up?

This place is definitely where all the tourists go when they come to Ocean City. You kind of have to come at least once during your stay. We ate dinner here the last night before we left to come home from our weekend in Ocean City. It was about 4 in the afternoon and not the least bit crowded. For our table of four, we ordered a large Meat Explosion pizza, a taco salad, and a crab burger. The pizza was great and full of ham, sausage, and pepperoni. It was very greasy, but tasted wonderful as the grease dripped down my hands while I ate. The taco salad looked pretty delicious and my sister said it tasted great. The crab burger looked pretty sad. It was a regular burger with two patties of crab on top. The crab patties were the size of scallops - so tiny! Our friend with the burger was not too pleased and pretty disappointed in his choice of food. The pizza was shared by all and well received by our whole table. I have had their breakfast before and it is pretty good. The Dough Roller is a bit pricey for a pizza joint and there are a ton of other places where you can get cheaper pizza while you are in Ocean City. However, along with Fishers Popcorn, the Dough Roller is a place you must visit when you are "downy ocean."

  • Christine J.

What do you people expect from a pizza joint on the boardwalk in Ocean City? The pizza is mediocre at best......AND it is over priced! But again it's spitting distance from one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast! The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean & the food came out of the kitchen piping hot within minutes of ordering! I would go again if I needed a quick bite to eat & a rest from the beach :)

The employees were very delightful. They answered our questions and took really good care of us. The food was very good. Ate there twice in two days!!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
